Looking For The Best Scrunchies Ever? I Found ‘Em!

I have been compensated for this post, but all opinions are my own!

About two years ago, when the word was getting back to “normal” and people were emerging from their homes to head back into the real world, I was doing some digging for a mask post for SavvyMom.ca. I wanted to focus on Canadian companies with high quality masks with cute fabrics that would be fun for kids (and grownups!) to wear for back to school. In my search, I stumbled upon a Montreal-based company called Kokoro.

Shortly after my post went live, Cindy, one of the founders of Kokoro, reached out to me to thank me for the post, and offered to send out some masks and scrunchies for me to try out. Of course, I jumped at the chance. The masks were even nicer in person than they were online, but my heart was definitely stolen by the scrunchies.

These scrunchies are unlike any I had ever seen. First of all, they were huge. Talk about a statement hair accessory. I’ve tried my share of scrunchies in the past, and knew these oversized scrunchies were the real deal. There’s nothing worse than a scrunchie that won’t scrunch. You know what I mean. They don’t have enough stretch. They’re not big enough. They look cute on the shelf at the store, but when it comes to holding up your mom bun, they just don’t get the job done.

The Golden Scrunchie

The Kokoro scrunchies check all the box for what a scrunchie should strive to be. They’re big enough to hold even the most giant of mom-buns. They have lots of stretch and awesome hold. They’re the perfect accessory for your hair, wrist, or Hydroflask . They come in so many fun prints and luxe fabrics that trying to decide which one to pick will be your biggest dilemma.

So far, some of my favourites have been the Dream Scrunchie, which is made of a soft and pretty organza that is the perfect addition to any outfit. Eloise stole that one from me almost instantly, and I have to admit, it looked pretty darn cute on her, too. The Golden Scrunchie is a best seller, and it’s easy to see why. The golden-tone satin is super versatile and can be worn for a night out on the town, or inside in your comfiest pair of yoga pants. The Mulberry Scrunchie is one of many fun prints that’s been worn on repeat since it came in the mail!

Although it’s not a scrunchie, I’ve also got to give a shoutout to the Twisted Headbands. This headband might be the first I’ve ever tried that’s actually stayed on my head without giving me a headache. It’s actually got a wire inside the fabric which means you can tighten it up to fit just about any noggin, and it can be worn in at least 6 different ways – including as a scarf!

In addition to their hair accessories, Kokoro also recently released a collection of tote bags in velvet and faux suede, perfect for carrying everything from your laptop to your groceries, and the side pocket and hidden interior pocket mean you’ll never lose your keys or phone again! For anyone with a baby in their crew, Kokoro also carries blankets, pacifier clips, and bibs in two styles. My drooly babies lived in bandana bibs – I wish these had been around when they were little! The classic bibs are also perfect for mealtime messes and backed with a super soft minky fabric that your baby won’t mind keeping on. Even if they do try to pull off the bib, the metal snap will keep things snug and secure!
